Q43 series crocodile shears

A crocodile shear works like a pair of scissors: a moving blade pivots down onto a fixed bed knife. It is the compact option for bar, pipe, plate and prepared sections — fast on short material, and far cheaper to power than a gantry or box shear of comparable cutting force.

How to choose the right crocodile shear

Start from the thickest section you cut — the square and round capacity lines are the real limit.
Check blade length against the longest piece, or you will pre-cut by hand.
Match power to duty cycle: a 7.5 kW machine is fine on occasional work, not on a two-shift line.
Plan the feed side — these machines are usually fed by hand or a short conveyor, and that labour sets the real throughput.

Frequently asked questions

What materials can it cut?

Bar, pipe, angle, plate offcuts and prepared sections. It is not intended for bulky, mixed yard scrap — for that, a box shear or a gantry shear is the right machine.

How is it different from a box shear?

A box shear clamps material in a chamber and cuts with a horizontal blade; a crocodile shear cuts with a pivoting blade against a bed knife. The crocodile is smaller, cheaper to power and faster on short, prepared material.

Can it run on single phase?

No. The listed models use three-phase power at 380 V / 50 Hz as standard; confirm your supply before ordering.

Does it need a foundation?

It is a bench machine rather than a fixed plant, but it still needs a level, load-bearing floor. Bolting down is recommended for the larger models.

Lead time and warranty?

7 days for standard models; confirmed per model for magnets, hydraulic grabs and double-cylinder shears. Warranty is 12 months from the bill of lading date, executed by the partner factory and coordinated by Shenghao.
