QX series box shears

A box shear loads scrap into a chamber, clamps it and cuts it with a horizontal blade. There is no long loading table to feed — the chamber holds the material while the blade passes. That makes it a compact alternative to a gantry shear on sites where floor space is the constraint.

Box shear or gantry shear?

Choose the box shear when floor space is tight and the material is bulky but does not need a long table to be laid out.
Choose the gantry shear when you handle long sections and need a loading table plus a grab or magnet to feed it.
Both cut the same categories of scrap. The difference is how the material reaches the blade, not what the blade can cut.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a box shear and a gantry shear?

A box shear cuts inside a chamber, so it needs less floor space. A gantry shear has a long loading table and is fed with a grab or magnet. The box shear suits compact sites; the gantry shear suits long, awkward material.

What size chamber do I need?

Start from your largest piece and how you will load it — grab, magnet or hand. A chamber that is too small means re-cutting; one that is too large costs power without adding throughput.

What power supply does it need?

Between 74 kW and 275 kW depending on the model, at 380 V / 50 Hz as standard. Confirm the site capacity before ordering.

Can it be loaded with an excavator?

Yes. The chamber is open at the top, so a grab or magnet can drop material straight in.

Lead time and warranty?

7 days for standard models; confirmed per model for magnets, hydraulic grabs and double-cylinder shears. Warranty is 12 months from the bill of lading date, executed by the partner factory and coordinated by Shenghao.
